Planned Classes (Students can only take ONE of the following):
Algebra 1: This course is designed for incoming 9th-grade students who are currently enrolled in Math 8. Students who successfully complete Algebra 1 over the summer will remain in Geometry during their freshman year and will have the opportunity to advance to Algebra 2 in their sophomore year. Students who took Advanced HS Math 1 in middle school and found it challenging and wish to repeat are also allowed to enroll in this course. This course will appear on your high school transcript and earn 10 math credits for a passing grade.
Summer Bridge: This is a course designed for incoming 9th graders to practice:
Introduction to high school essay writing
One-on-one essay instruction
Guided practice in reading, writing, listening, and speaking
Creative projects and social interactions in a safe setting
Introduction to all major literature units in English
Introduction to Success in High School and College Acceptance
Math skills to prepare for high school.
